PPGI Paint Adhesion Test: What Does It Show?
At PPGI.LTD, a PPGI paint adhesion test is one check of how well the paint stays on the steel. It does not show what will happen after every bend, so tell us the test and score you need.

What a PPGI Paint Adhesion Test Shows
What it shows
Whether paint comes off from the cut area in the named test.
What it does not show
Whether the coating will pass every bend or roll-forming job.
The test name and score must be read together. A score by itself is not enough.
How Do You Read the Test Score?
These scores come from ASTM D3359 Method B and ISO 2409. The two tests use different score directions.
ASTM D3359 Method B
5B is betterISO 2409
0 is betterTell us which test and pass score your order needs.
Why Should You Also Test a Bent Part?
Test a flat piece
Use the agreed paint test.
Bend or form it
Make the shape used in production.
Check the paint again
Look for cracks or paint coming off.
If the order needs a report, tell us the test name and pass score. We will confirm which test record can be supplied.
Paint Check After BendingA failed result can have more than one cause. Our six-layer coating process shows the layers that may need checking.
Buyer Concern & FAQ
What is a good paint test score?
It depends on the test. ASTM D3359 Method B is better at 5B. ISO 2409 is better at 0.
Is a cross-cut test the same as a bend test?
No. A cross-cut test checks paint around small cuts. A bend test checks the paint after the steel is bent.
Where can the test be done?
It depends on the test and the tools needed. We confirm the available test place for each order.
Does a failed test show which coating layer is wrong?
No. The sample, test steps, paint cure, and forming work may all affect the result.
What should a test report show?
It should show the test name, sample, result, and pass score. We confirm which record is available for the order.
